How it works
Every person and every funeral is different. However, most of our Muslim clients work with a local mosque to arrange the funeral ceremony, while we step in to help with things like:
- Collecting the person who has died
- Looking after the person's body
- Handling paperwork
- Providing a listening ear and a guiding hand
If you need more support, we're ready to provide it. All our Muslim funeral services are tailored to our clients, their families and their unique needs. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any special requests.
Muslim funeral services: what's included
When you choose AFD, we want you to feel confident that your religious and personal needs will be met. Along with these services, our Islamic funeral package includes step-by-step support from our qualified team – right up to the day of the funeral.
Collecting the person who has died
Call us any time. We'll send our private ambulance to collect your loved one and transport them to our funeral home.
Storing the person's body
We will store your loved one's body in our state-of-the-art mortuary and look after them until the funeral.
Handling paperwork
When a person dies, there is paperwork to complete. We handle most of this so you can focus on the funeral.
Preparing the person's body (optional)
Many of our Muslim clients prefer to visit a mosque to perform the necessary preparations. If needed, however, you are free to use our private washing and dressing room.
Providing a coffin (optional)
If, for any reason, you want a coffin rather than the traditional Islamic burial shroud (Kafan), we will be happy to provide one.
Transporting the person's body
We can provide a hearse and attendant to carry your loved one's body to the mosque and burial ground.

Are you Muslim funeral directors?
No, we are not Muslim funeral directors. However, we possess a deep understanding of funeral rites that spans many religions and cultures. When you choose AFD, you can expect step-by-step support from experienced funeral directors who know and understand your faith.
How much does a Muslim funeral cost?
Costs can vary depending on where and when the burial takes place, as well as the services we provide to you. Please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll put together a quote that meets your unique requirements.
What areas do you cover?
Our funeral home is located in Edgware, on the border between Brent and Barnet. However, we serve families across all areas of London and Greater London.
Can you arrange a Muslim funeral for a child?
Yes. If you have lost a child under 16, we will carry out our services at no cost. Learn more about our children's funeral services.
